Innovative Network Systems
(INS)
is about to revolutionize the travel
industry by bringing into existence the long-sought next generation
comprehensive global distribution platform.
Recently, the travel industry has been undergoing radical changes that
are putting pressure on all its sectors:
- The appearance of low-cost travel
suppliers offering extremely competitive fares.
- The rise of Internet Distribution (ID), bypassing legacy Global
Distribution Systems (GDS).
- GDS deregulation.
- Modern travel consumers expecting more flexibility and lower
travel expenses.
Such changes result in a whole new set of challenges that the
travel industry will have to face:
- Low-cost travel sellers need to go beyond
ID to significantly expand their customer base.
- Legacy travel suppliers cannot afford the high costs of legacy
GDS systems while competing with low-cost travel suppliers.
- GDS will start offering disparate content as
a consequence of deregulation. Accessing all GDS to ensure total
content to travel consumers will become too expensive for middle to
small travel sellers.
- Legacy GDS are cumbersome, rigid, limited and old technology
based systems that cannot sustain low-cost solutions.
